Police commissioner, Gari Baki has announced that a total of 10,600 security personnel will be deployed during the elections.
The deployment will comprise members of the Police Force, the PNG Defense Force and the Correctional Services.
The police commissioner says high risk areas will take precedence over areas of lesser risk, in terms of the deployment of the contingents.
