YOUNG PEOPLE INSPIRED BY PROGRAM

Students from Catholic Institutions in Port Moresby have attended a formation program recently to share their experiences and prayer together.

The students from MHCTVET and a few from DBTI had the opportunity to attended the program from September 20th to 21 at the Sivarai Namona Pastoral Center in Bomana.

The program was organised organized by SDB, Parish Priest of MHC Parish Fr. Ambrose Pereira with the help of Sr. Theresa Trinh Vu, FMA.

The formation program, with its theme, “Sharing Our Talents and Gifts,” was dynamic, featuring moments of prayer, fun, games, and discussions. The sessions focused on three main topics, reflective films, relationships and lifelong commitments.

Fr. Ambrose emphasized the importance of recognizing the different types of relationships in one’s life and the qualities of healthy relationships and the Sacrament of Marriage, explaining that marriage is a lifelong covenant, not a contract.

He stated, Sadly, the media is distorting what true friendship is. Friends are people we’re close to, someone we can trust and connect with emotionally.”The session concluded with participants reflecting and resolving to pursue a life of joy and happiness.

“Sharing our experiences, thoughts and praying together. The program made me realize how important it is for me to help in influencing the younger generation and I am grateful for the opportunity.”  – Pauline Morro, DBTI final year student.
