The people of Kwarapri village have pledged to work together with the local MP and the Minister for Trade, Commerce and Industry, Richard Maru.
The reconciliation ceremony was organized by those who stood against Minister Maru during the 2012 General Elections.
They now want to work together to bring much needed services in the area.
During his visit to the District, Member for Yangoru – Saussia and Minister for Trade, Commerce and Industry, Richard Maru reconciled with various communities. One of the ceremonies was held at Kwarapri village of East Yangoru. As supporters of another candidate, they came to say sorry to Minister Maru.
The villagers said they were forced to support another candidate because their candidate was an immediate relative; a situation they say is common throughout the country when it comes to elections. But the peace ceremony was an opportune time for them to break that barrier and welcome development.
Minister Maru said since the early 1950’s there hasn’t been any changes to the government station. Mr intends to change it for the better. He told the people, K700, 000 has been allocated to construct roads in the area and K5 million for water project at Yangoru station, all these to attract top public servants into the District. Meanwhile, construction work for all projects will start immediately.
