Yangoru: K11 Million Projects Launched

A total sum of K11 million was presented by Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill for a water supply project and road upgrading and sealing in the Yangoru Saussia electorate on Wednesday.

Before presenting the cheques, Mr O’Neill said the Sepik Oil Palm Project is a multi-billion project, and East Sepik people must make better decisions to benefit and see more services. He said the water project is essential as Yangoru Station will see the upgrading of the health centre, a new police barracks, and schools to cater for public servants and nearby villages.

Mr O’Neill presented a K5 million cheque to Water PNG Representative, William Sweet, and a K6million cheque to Works Engineers, for the Kwakwie Yangoru road upgrading and sealing. This road will link all feeder roads to the Sepik Highway.

Local MP and Trade Commerce and Industry Minister, Richard Maru welcomed the projects and praised Mr O’Neill in supporting him to transform lives of the people.

Mr Maru said the developments will commence once proper tendering are completed. The funds were derived from the Sepik Oil Palm Project funding of K100 million.
