West New Britain has become one of the first 4 Provinces, to see the Provincial Health Authority come into reality.
The launching was done today by the Secretary of Health, Pascoe Kase including the Swearing in of the Board Members at the provincial capital, Kimbe.
West New Britain Governor Sasindran Muthuvel, said this will see the merging of the Public Hospital, and the Provincial Health to operate under one roof.
This will see clear health systems structures, to ensure the much needed health services reaches the rural population.
Apart from the launching, Governor Muthuvel confirmed that the WNB Provincial Government, has allocated counterpart funding for a nursing college, to cater for the shortage of nursing officers in the province.
Health Secretary Pascal Kase declared that the National Department of Health, now stands ready to support the WNB Governor Muthuvel’s initiative, of starting a nursing college in West New Britain.
