Electoral Officials in Western Highlands Province have the ballot boxes for distribution to each ward council and local level government.
For the first time, the Provincial Election Manager, Philip Telapi has allowed the Candidates and the Returning Officers to witness the distribution of ballot papers.
Telapi said the ballot papers are safe and secured with 24 hours security guard.
Candidates, Returning Officers and their Assistant Returning Officers have also witnessed the allocating of ballot papers.
The Provincial Election Manager, Philip Telapi said this is to allow transparency in the transferring of ballot boxes, so that candidates can expect the same amount of papers distributed to be returned and counted.
All the materials needed for the polling and counting have arrived except for scrutineer appointment forms and scrutineer cards.
However, Telapi said all the materials needed including mobile phones for the officials have arrived and training of polling officials will start next week.
Western Highlands Province will cast their votes on July 4th. Telapi said by now voters should know who to vote and be ready.
He said polling will be fine for the other three electorates in the Province, but his biggest attention is for Hagen open Electorate.
Telapi is expecting trouble during the counting and polling, but said security will also be tight n those hotspots.
The counting for Western Highlands will be at Kimininga Police Barracks.
