With the National General Elections nearing, most political parties are now announcing their key areas of focus.
Education is high on most party lists.
During this term of parliament, Tuition Fee Free Education has been a mainstay for the government under Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill.
Although the government says it has enabled more children to go to school, for schools in rural areas, the TFF Policy has also created unique challenges.
Sometimes, these challenges force teachers to go out of their way, in educating the next generation.
St Thomas Primary School in Uiaku, Tufi, Oro Province is one such school.
