Team Southern Highlands received a cheque of K200, 000 from a local construction company, Oceanic Construction, in a press conference held at Shady Rest Hotel in Port Moresby.
The press conference was held to discuss Team Southern Highlands’ fundraising dinners and sponsorships from their local MPs and district administrators.
Team Southern Highlands will take part in 11 sporting codes in November at the 6th BSP PNG Games in Lae this year.
Team Southern Highlands will be represented at the PNG Games with 400 athletes and officials.
Owner of Oceanic Construction, Sape Molumi, said he is proud to help Team Southern Highlands, especially the athletes representing them at the 6th BSP PNG Games next month.
District Administrator Joe Kaiyo also gave his thanks to Oceanic Construction for their generous support of K200, 000.
He said the money donated will go a long way in helping the athletes by accommodating their sports-related expenses.
