Teachers with fake qualifications seeking teaching positions in Eastern Highlands Province will be arrested by the police. This was revealed by Provincial Director Albert Wesley.
Wesley expressed this during the dedication service of Eastern Highlands Province teachers held recently in Goroka at the YC Hall.
“Teachers with falsified documents will be arrested and charged by police, we are scrutinizing every teacher’s qualification document to ensure they are qualified to teach,” Wesley said.
He said the Eastern Highlands Provincial Education department focuses on delivering quality education for every student from Childhood Education up to Secondary and Technical -Vocational schools. Their efforts are enhanced under the theme for the division, “Provide quality education by creating positive school culture with God.”
Wesley also acknowledged outgoing Senior School inspector Mupe Kaupa during the occasion for his dedication and mentorship to teachers in the past 20 years’ service to the province.
Kaupa while delivering his last speech emphasized strongly for partnership between schools, teachers and other Government departments.
He said education is one part of the whole government system, that must perform its duties as expected.
