Taiwan Trade Mission Donates To ITA Victims

Relief donations to the Milne Bay Provincial Government for the affected victims of Cyclone Ita continues as more organizations pour in donations in both cash and kind.

Today, the Taiwan Trade Mission in PNG presented a sum of K27, 500 to help restore lives of the people affected.

 

The donation was presented to Milne Bay Governor, Titus Philemon, by Taiwan’s country representative, Daniel Hu in Port Moresby.

 

Milne Bay Governor, Titus Philemon thanked all who have contributed in the past 3 weeks. Mr Philemon said the latest report by the Provincial Disaster Office revealed that 2 children were killed as a result of floods during the cyclone.

 

Governor Philemon also emphasized that other donations must be deposited directly into the Milne Bay Provincial Trust Account, and no other accounts.

 

A major fundraising drive will be held this Friday at the Parliament State Function Room by Parliamentary members of Milne Bay Province. So far, over K481, 000, has been received by the Disaster Appeal Committee.
