Statements Show Department’s Monies Used To Fund Scheme To Oust Governor Juffa

Allegations against Minister for Religion, Youth and Community Development and Member for Sohe, Delilah Gore, have come to light for her part in the plot to topple Oro Governor, Gary Juffa.

Documents have been disclosed, exhibiting a payment of more than K17,000 made out to the Grand Papua Hotel in Port Moresby on 20 October 2014 from the Department of Community Development.

The documents show the ‘drawer’ as the Department of Community Development Drawing Account – cheque number 126184, signed by the Minister, Delilah Gore.

The total hotel bill of K17,343.48, was allegedly for services rendered by the hotel relating to meetings staged by the Sohe MP, Member for Ijivitari, David Arore, severel members of the Oro provincial executive council and Victor Yu, a company executive of a Malaysain logging company.

The respective Oro Local Level Government Presidents who travelled to Port Moresby were reported to have been accommodated at the luxurious Grand Papua Hotel during their stay in the nation’s capital.

The Minister Gore was not available to comment on these allegations.
