The Southern Regional Athletics Championships was underway in Port Moresby.

Telikom Women’s Premier team defeated University in a tough 3-2 win in the Fairfax volleyball competition.
It was a fest of footy as four of Port Moresby’s AFL clubs tested themselves for the 2014 EsiLoan Premiership cup Grand Final.
The Women’s Grand final had University Tigers go head to head with Taurama Suns, and the clash of the titans saw Taurama Suns take on 2013 premiers Lamana Dockers in the Senior Men’s Grand Final.
The Central Province Premier Rugby League Inter District competition kicked off on Friday at Kwikila.
SP Hunters had their presentation and awards night at the Gateway hotel in Port Moresby. The SP PNG Hunters Willie Minoga has reasons for a double celebration.
Minoga scooped the MRDC Coaches Award at the Inaugural SP PNG Hunters Awards Presentation Night at Gateway Hotel Yesterday.
Described as the ’freight train by commentators also been awarded the Instrust Super Cup ‘People’s choice Award’.
