By Jack Lapauve Jr – EM TV News, Port Moresby

Hospital Poroman Foundation has launched a new campaign to help assist cancer patients here in Papua New Guinea.

The foundation yesterday hosted a pre-launch event for their Shave, Trim or Dye (Colour) Your Hair For Cancer campaign.

The campaign will see individuals from all walks of life sponsored to shave, trim or dye their hair to assist cancer patients in hospitals around the country. The campaign will start by using funds raised from the campaign to assist children diagnosed with cancer at the Port Moresby General Hospital.

The campaign ambassador is Australian Wallabies rugby great, Will Genia.

Hospital Poroman founder Janet Sios said the foundation is inspired to have Will Genia as ambassador.

“It’s a family thing and many have their own stories to tell, so many have volunteered to be part of the campaign,” Sios said.

The event will be the first for this year and a new trend taken by the Hospital Poroman Foundation.

The Shave, Trim or Dye (Colour) Your Hair For Cancer Campaign will be hosted at the Lamana Hotel this coming Friday from 10am-5pm.
