Semi Trailer Capsized

The driver of a semi-trailer is nursing a broken arm at the Port Moresby General Hospital after his semi-trailer capsized at Baruni village, outside of Port Moresby yesterday.

The truck belonging to TST group of companies was transporting household goods from Motukea into Port Moresby when its tires slipped and forced it to capsize onto the oncoming lane.

Fortunately there were no pedestrian or oncoming vehicles at the time of the accident. Help arrived minutes later and the goods were loaded on to another semi- trailer and were transported in to Port Moresby.

These household goods include standby generators and cartons of shoes and plates.

The accident had caused traffic congestion and can be seen as a reminder to all semi-trailer operators to always double check their vehicles before going on the road and to be careful while on road. This should not only be a lesson for the Semi-Trailer operators but also the rest of the transportation community.

Attempts to get comments from TST were unsuccessful
