QRL Intrust Cup: SP Hunters Down

The SP PNG Hunters have lost their Round 17 match against the Eastern Suburb Tigers at Kalabong oval in Rabaul this afternoon.

The Hunters were short of six points, wrapping the full time score twenty-two points to sixteen.

The Hunters were leading two points ahead of the visitor’s team in the first half of the match, however, a field goal in favor of the Eastern Tigers levelled the score twelve all in the first five minutes of the second half.

The Tigers prove too strong in the second half, scoring two more tries with only one successful conversion, thus leading the way with twenty-two points.

The Hunters managed to score a try but missed the conversion, dragging them at only sixteen points.

The SP PNG Hunters narrowly surrendered to a disappointing loss of 22-16.

The Hunters now will have to speed up recovery following two consecutive losses and the next round that will see them go against the Northern Pride.
