West New Britain has become one of the first 4 Provinces to see the Provincial Health Authority come into reality.
The launch was done today by Secretary of Health Pascoe Kase, including the Swearing in of the Board Members at the provincial capital, Kimbe.
West New Britain Governor Sasindran Muthuvel said this will see the merging of the Public Hospital and the Provincial Health to operate under one roof.
This will see clear health systems structures to ensure the much needed health services reaches the rural population.
Apart from the launching, Governor Muthuvel confirmed that the WNB Provincial Government has allocated counterpart funding for a nursing college to cater for the shortage of nursing officers in the province.
Health Secretary Pascal Kase declared that the National Department of Health now stands ready to support the WNB Governor Muthuvel’s initiative of starting a nursing college in West New Britain.
