Thanks to the Pride of Papua New Guinea Awards for Women.
The awards recognizes ordinary Papua New Guineans for their great and extraordinary deeds in their community.
The awards were launched in Port Moresby today.
Each year, six phenomenal women in Papua New Guinea are awarded medals and receive a pledge of assistance by City Pharmacy Limited.
Since its inception in 2007, these highly prestigious awards have attracted over a thousand women nominees nationwide from all walks of life.
The awards were launched by Patron, Governor General Sir Michael Ogio.
The awards have six categories; they are Young PNG, Bravery and Courage, Community Spirit, Care and Compassion and Environment and Education Role Model.
The uniqueness of the awards is that the winners receive annual assistance form CPL for projects relating to the categories they won.
Also present at the launch were former winners of the awards.
