Police Faceoff Outside Court House

A commotion among members of the police force outside the Waigani Court House today almost ended in a fight.

The incident happened between police officers guarding Attorney General and Minister for Justice Ano Pala and detectives from the Fraud Squad.

 

Present there was suspended Assistant Commissioner of Police Thomas Eluh who exchanged words with Minister Pala’s guards.

 

Mr Eluh also addressed the public after the commotion drew the public’s attention.

 

The incident straight after Minister Pala’s case after her was summoned to present to the courts sufficient evidence on his advertisement of legal bills paid to Paul Paraka Lawyers.

 

Meanwhile EMTV has confirmed reports of the disarming of two close protection officers of Task Force Sweep Chairman Sam Koim.

 

The two officers were taken to the Boroko Police Station this morning but released. They were taken by a truck load of police force members.

 

NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Perou N’dranou said no information will be surfaced as yet as it is an investigation matter. Mr Perou will be making a media statement tomorrow for clarification purposes.
