PDL 9 Landowners Business Awareness

PDL 9 Landowners of Juha, located along the ‘Order of Hela and Western Province, have been encouraged to organize themselves prior to project commencement in six years’ time.

In a development forum held yesterday, Interim Manager of Juha Petro-energy Development Company, Johnson Limbya, told the landowners that they must establish themselves now to meet the criteria set by the developer.

Discussions at the Shady Rest Hotel in Port Moresby centered on Business Development and spin-offs.

Johnson Lymbya is the Interim Managing Director for Juha Interim Petro-Energy Development, a company which the landowners have agreed as the new umbrella company for Juha, similar to that of Hides Gas Development company.

Now that the Juha Gas Field will be developed by the same developer, Johnson organised the forum to tell his people about avenues on how to secure business opportunities from his experiences.

The landowners were told to put their differences aside, or miss out on the opportunities the project will provide come 2020.

The Juha Landowners are led by paramount leaders, Chief Tami Hinirako, representing Hela Landowners, while Chief John Wabi Sala representing Western Province landowners.

The participants were told that with the strict criteria’s set by Exxon Mobil relating to contracts and business spin–offs, they must work with the new umbrella company to ensure they meet the developer’s international business standards that calls for communal benefit and not individual gain.
