PNG Soccer Charity Trust Cup

The Easter celebration wouldn’t be any better with more than 90 corporate teams flocking to the Bisini Soccer Ground for the PNG Soccer Charity Trust Competition.

Some teams meant business while others fulfilled their social responsibility for their organization.

The Charity Cup is an annual event that falls on the Easter Weekend.

It was a day of fun, for colleagues, family and friends, to build relationships with each other.

The soccer tournament has come a long way to become a popular Easter event, attracting keen participants from business houses in Port Moresby.

Teams were proud to display their corporate colors on the field.

It was a rowdy match between the US embassy Eagles in maroon and Team Hodava in the senior mix division.

The Eagles flew in with force right from the start, sending frenzy fans   dancing.

Team Hodova fought back as they capitalized on Eagles’ ball handling errors that went begging on several attempts.

It was US Embassy Eagles who finally found the back of the net…minutes into the game.

Hodava’s scoring opportunity went begging as the Eagles ran rings around them in style.

The 2 points victory put the US Team back into the tournament after being away for six years.

The Team to beat this season is SP Brewery who has maintained high standards in the competition since its inception.
