PARUL UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

More than 100 Papua New Guineans are expected to study at Parul University in India this year under the 50% scholarship program.

This was announced by Regional Scholarship Coordinator John Yandi while distributing application form to the interested applicants today in Port Moresby.

With the increasing number of school drop outs and unemployment issues in the country, Parul University is offering this scholarship, giving a second chance to Papua New Guineans to further their studies in India.

After completion of studies, they are qualified to work within PNG or any other country including India says the regional scholarship coordinator.

The full cost to study each year is k25 ,000 kina, however with this 50% scholarship, they are required to pay only K11, 000.

The Marketing Executive for Parul University, Anushka Joshi explains that accommodation and meals are also covered for semester breaks during the study period.

This scholarship programs commenced last year with 64 students registered already and are currently studying under different Diploma, Bachelor and PhD programs.

The program is offered not only to Papua New Guineans, but to other countries as well. The university has a total population of more than 10 thousand students all from different parts of the world who are studying full time there.

According to Parul University’s online page the institution is a private university in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. It was established in 2009 as Parul Group of Institutes in Vadodara, Gujarat and has 32 institutes that offer over 450 UG, PG, diploma, and PhD programmes.

 The university was ranked among the top 50 universities by NIRF Innovation Rankings in 2023.
