Palais Training Kicks Off

PNG Palais head coach Elenoa Kunatuba, announces that the team’s journey to the 2015 Pacific Games is set to commence at the end of May, and will not be an easy drill.

Despite positive and promising indications from the team’s performance at the Hong Kong 7s tournament, where they finished 11th out of 12, Kunatuba stresses that there will be slight changes to the team, where she will welcome new inclusions into the team.

Without doubt, Kunatuba says “there is so much potential in the team but also a lot of hard work to be done.” The former Fijian mentor stresses that the team lacks experience, more than anything else.

“Basically, getting our players exposed to more international tournaments will definitely boost them for the Pacific games,” Kunatuba said.

The PNG Palais have a huge task ahead with preparations for the Oceania 7s, and Shanghai 7s in October, as well as participating at the Coral Coast Sevens in Fiji, later in November.
