Papua New Guinea stands at 7th place behind Marshall Islands on 6th place , Host Country , Solomon Islands on 5th place, Tahiti on fourth , Samoa on third place , Australia on second and New Caledonia on the first placing on the medal tally board.

In day two of the games, PNG in its first ever table tennis competition game played at a South Pacific games tournament has gone into the quarter final with Geoffrey Loi beating Solomon Islands yesterday, and in swimming Georgia Leigh Vele took home the bronze medal which is the first medal for the swimming fratenity with a swimming time of 34.7 seconds.

In other sports , the smart pairing of Abigail Tere Apisah and Pauline Hyun garnered PNG bronze medal for Tennis after both beating Tonga on two of their seperate sets.

Morea Baru has also won Gold , placing PNG on the 7th placing with four gold medals. Baru won gold in the 61kg in the men’s category.

Another contingent of PNG Atlete’s also arrive in Honiara yesterday. As of yesterday 21st of November 2023 , PNG has so far won 4 gold , 4 silver and 7 bronze medals and is in 7th placing on the medal tally.
