Ombudsman Commission Launches Strategic Plan

Ombudsman Commission of PNG launched its Strategic Plan 2014 to 2018 today in Port Moresby.

The launching of the Revised Strategic Plan is the new road map the commission will utilize to achieve its objectives.

In his keynote address, Chief Ombudsman, Rigo Lua said the plan is modernized to meet external challenges the Commission face.

He said the five year plan pursuits the interest of promoting good governance and quality leadership in the country.

The plan is developed through an extensive consultation process to capture strategic priorities in line with the National Government’s development plan, and Vision 2050.

The document incorporates the Commission’s mandate, vision, mission, values and key result areas to achieve its objectives.

Meanwhile, the Ombudsman Commission released a statement to assure the public that the meeting called by Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, was out of courtesy, and not to be seen as a compromising factor into the UBS loan saga.

OC says no individual will rule over investigations, or be handed disclosed details of any investigation undertaken by the Commission.
