On Monday Prime Minister Peter O’Neill officially launched the new LLG office complex and commissioned major impact projects in the district.

Kokopo Mayor, Diuvia Kopman, said the province and district is developing at a rapid rate because of the transparency of its current government.

Furthermore, Governor and Local MP Ereman ToBaining Jr said the district is undertaking 20 development projects at the moment. The projects will include rural electrification, water projects, road maintenance, service delivery in health and education. The governor thanked the government for concentrating on district development.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Peter O’Neill said the Province of East New Britain will receive the much needed attention in the coming years to develop further its established infrastructures in education, health and tourism.

The office complex is named after former Kokopo MP, the late Oscar Tamur.
