The new system (Wash Work) will bring safe and fresh clean water to a total of seven villages that are located in the district’s Numbo Local Level Government.

The villages are Huarahuara, Niakandokum, Kininumbohu,Sause Numbohu, Harva and Wamoyen.

Minister Maru said Yangoru-Saussia District has a vision to deliver safe water to all villages in the district as safe water is a basic human right. He said the delivery of safe water will obviously reduce water borne diseases.

“We are also looking at a model that can be sustained in the years to come”, he added.

Meanwhile Oxfam’s associate country director, Phillipe Allen thanked Minister for this initiative and have fully agreed to the partnership between Oxfam and Yangoru-Saussia District.

The system being constructed by Oxfam is sourced from a national water source at Huarahuara village.
