Nuku MP confident of re-elected in 2017

Sitting Nuku MP, Joe Sungi, is confident of defending his seat in the West Sepik Province.

Sungi said developments in the last five years is the result of voting by people in 2012.

“The service so far is a result of your vote,” said Sungi, a former Administrator and political head.

Sungi submitted his nomination in the District, witnessed by the Returning Officer, Francis Yawalan.

Defending his seat, Sungi told those that gathered, the improvement of services reaching the people is the reason behind being elected in 2012.

Sungi will be challenged by nine other candidates in this year’s election.

Among the nine is former Nuku MP, Andrew Kumbakor.

Sungi will face his rivals as campaigns and polling nears, but he says he is confident of being re-elected.

Hundreds gathered to witness Sungi’s nomination, and to pledge their political alliance with the MP.
