Gena: No Long-Term Solution Yet For Lae School Fights

It may take much longer than expected to find a solution to the problem of school fights in Lae. Morobe’s provincial chairman for education, Andrew Gena, says that interim measures imposed last year have turned out to be ineffective.

While the second term of schooling resumes next week, Mr Gena says the provincial education authority in Lae does not have a solid plan in place to stem student violence.

 

Mr Gena has stated that it may take much longer than expected to find a solution to the problem of school fights in Lae.

The Lae school fight issue has been described as cult-like and the struggle for peace has been increasingly sought after with parents demanding a long-term solution.
