The five year period of the Special Intervention Funds that supports the delivery of high impact projects in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville has lapsed.
Vice President of the Autonomous Bougainville Government, Patrick Nisira has called on the National Government for the re-negotiation of these funds to allow the roll out of projects to continue in the Autonomous Region.
Mr. Nisira also thanked the then Somare-led government for approving the SIF funds through negotiations and for the O’Neill Government for continuing its implementation.
Meanwhile, the ABG Vice President requested for the National Government to release the outstanding grants for Bougainville.
