NCD’s top cop to launch festive season operations

Christmas is fast approaching and police operations in the nation’s capital city will be tightened up to ensure that families have a safe and enjoyable, festive season.

The official police operations for the 2014 to 2015 ‘Christmas and New Year’ celebrations will be launched on December 19.  

The metropolitan superintendent’s parade will also be hosted by NCD Metropolitan Superintendent, Andy Bawa and staged at the Jack Pidik Park at Five Mile in Port Moresby.

The parade will acknowledge those policemen and women who have performed outstandingly during the year.

NCD Governor, Powes Parkop will be the official guest speaker at the event.

Once the operation is launched, police will be patrolling suburbs to ensure the festive season is celebrated in a peaceful manner. 

NCD Metropolitan Superintendent, Andy Bawa has also issued warnings to city residents to take extra precautions when moving around the city, in the days leading up to the festive season.
