NCD Polling Preparations begin

National Capital District Election Officials gathered this morning at the Jack Pidik Park in Port Moresby to receive their redeployment briefing for the NCD polling tomorrow.

Thousands of election officials in the Nation’s Capital turned up this morning at the Jack Pidik Park to receive their deployment briefing for NCD polling tomorrow.

The officials were briefed on what they will be doing during polling by returning officers from Moresby South, Moresby Northeast and Moresby Northwest electorates.

There were hundreds of PMV buses parked there were hired to transport these election officials to visit their respective polling sites.

These officials consists of polling securities and polling officials from the three electorates in Port Moresby Northeast, Northwest and South who have been engaged for the polls.

They have been urged to turn-up at their respective polling sites before 8am tomorrow morning.

Also present were election observers and security officers from the three disciplinary forces: the Police, CS and Defence will be providing security during polling.

At the final briefing for polling and security officials yesterday NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Ben Turi said NCD police is ready to ensure a safe and free election.
