The NCD Public Servants Soccer Association organized a friendly match at the PNG IPA Grounds to prepare teams for the 2014 season.

The Games kicked off in the morning with the under 17 and under 19 divisions while the girls played in their under 15 and 17 categories.

NCDPSSA has been stressing the importance of girls’ involvement in the friendly games to prepare them for the upcoming event which is set to kick off at the end of this month for a week.

A good number of girls from participating teams will be selected by their respective clubs to attend the selection trials this week.

A young Team of both U15 and U18 team will be finalized at the end of this week to represent the association in the 2014 PNG FA sanctioned Tournament.

The tournament was one of the many development goals of improving the association and also getting young people to take part in sports to live healthy lives and become good citizens of the community

The highlight of the day saw City United in yellow locking horns with Wantoks FC in the A league clash. City United were up to their duty however Wantoks were first to score the opener and were 3 goals ahead. In the final remaining minutes Wantoks defeated City United 3 goals to 2.

The main purpose of the friendly match was to bring young women and girls in their youths together and to understand the importance of the community.

The proper season kicks off next weekend with all the clubs ready to kick off the season on a high note.
