Nauru welcomes 2018 Commonwealth Games Baton

After a three day stop-over in Singapore, Nauru received the Baton today as it ventures into the final leg of relay across Oceania.

Kiribati, Niue, Cook Islands and Tonga will be visited after Nauru.

The baton will later visit Samoa, Tuvalu, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, before the Baton enters Vanuatu, Norfolk Island and then New Zealand.

Australia will receive it on Christmas Eve.

Launched on Commonwealth Day March 13th this year in London, the Baton was handed to the first Baton bearer and Australian Track Cyclist Anna Meares.

Prince Charles is expected to read aloud the message placed in the Baton by Queen Elizabeth, at Gold Coast 2018 Opening Ceremony on April 4.
