Minister for National Planning has welcomed the Vice Minister for National Planning and Member for Tewai-Siassi, Dr. Kobby Bomareo.
Minister Maru said as one of the Central Agencies of Government, the Department of National Planning and Monitoring is responsible for many major projects in the country and Dr. Kobby’s joining will be of great assistance, especially with his health background as a medical doctor.
He said the Vice Minister will now be responsible for the Water and Sanitation, Hygiene (WaSH) Policy, National Population Policy, Nutrition Policy, health sector policies including overseeing of the rural district hospitals among others.
Minister Maru encouraged all Department staff to lend the Vice Minister the support he will need as he takes on the important tasks ahead and in ensuring that the goals laid out in the Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP) III are realised.
