Security will be beefed up and awareness’s to Port Moresby South will be conducted as the electorate prepares itself to host the APEC meeting in November and the Senior Officials Meeting 2 this month (May).
Moresby South MP and APEC Minister, Justin Tkatchenko, said people must be informed of APEC and security personnel must also be aware of their tasks during the lead up meetings and the actual Leaders’ Summit in November.
He also thanked the Australian and New Zealand governments for the continuous training of police and military personnel’s towards APEC.
He stressed that people in his electorate, including business houses, will cooperate to clean up and make Moresby South a safe place to host the world leaders.
Tkatchenko added that the long term aim is to make Moresby South a model electorate in the city.
