Minoga, Nene out of Kumuls Squad

Willie Minoga has returned to the country from the Kumuls Pacific Test team after being suspended by the Queensland Rugby League.

He has been replaced by Israel Eliab, who flew down this morning to join the team.

Willie Minoga was suspended for two matches for a dangerous throw. He says he was looking forward to playing for the Kumuls this weekend, and is disappointed he won’t have the chance to do so.

Though he won’t be playing this weekend, he is confident the Kumuls will be able to beat Cook Islands.

Stargroth Amean, who was also cited for a similar offence during their match against Northern Pride, entered an early guilty plea and has been cleared by the QRL Judiciary.

Another big blow to the team saw St George Illawarra Dragons winger, Nene McDonald’s late withdrawal from the Kumuls after sustaining an ankle injury in last weekend’s game against the Melbourne Storm.

Looking ahead to the weekends match, Rod Griffin from the Bulldogs is Captain, and will be assisted by Hunters captain, Ase Boas.

They play the Cook Islands this Saturday at 3:15pm in Sydney Australia. The live match will be available on EMTV.
