Minister Gore Takes Office

An additional 5000 TESAS Scholarships will be made available for students to enter higher learning institutions.

 

Minister for Higher Education, Research Science and Technology, Delilah Gore announced this during the handover take over ceremony today.

This initiative will cut back on the number of drop outs and boost the country’s human capital.

 

The official ceremony was more of a family affair, as the outgoing Minister David Arore handed over the portfolio to his aunt and Sohe Member Delilah Gore.

 

It was witnessed by staff of the Office of Higher Education and heads of University’s in the country.

 

In his outgoing remarks, Ijivitari Member David Arore told the incumbent Minister not to be an impediment to the progress of the Higher Education sector.

 

The government has recently recognized the importance of the higher education sector and has invested heavily to move it forward.

 

Mr. Arore says the Tuition Free Education at the lower level has created a bottleneck system in the higher education level.

 

He challenged Minister Gore by identifying a policy to cater for the increase number of drop outs.

 

Minister Delilah Gore gave her assurance to address this issue.

 

She urged the Office of Higher Education and Vice Chancellors of all Universities in the country, to cooperate with her, to find amicable solutions to problems that the Higher Education Sector is facing.
