Marum Confirms Team for Game Against Cook Islands

PNG Kumuls coach, Michael Marum, has named his final team to take on the Cook Islands this Saturday.

Despite the last minute changes to the team due to player injuries and suspensions, he has equally capable players to fill in their spots.

Coach Michael Marum had to make a few changes to his team after the late suspension of Willie Minoga by the Queensland Rugby League, and the withdrawal of Nene McDonald.

Marum has put in Richard Pandia who will make his debut for the Kumuls when he starts on the wing this weekend. He becomes Kumul number 279 to ever don the Kumuls jumper.

Other debutants are Nixon Put and Tommy Butterfield will come off the bench.

Wellington Albert and Israel Eliab will are the other interchange players.

The PNGRFL Chairman, Sandis Tsaka, will present the jerseys to the debutants at the team hotel tomorrow evening. The final team sees Stargroth Amean at fullback, Justin Olam and Richard Pandia on the wings Adex Wera and Thompson Teteh in the Centres.

The Boas Brothers will control the halves while Wartovo Puara will feed the forward pack in the hooker position. Captain Rod Griffin leads the forward pack and will see Rhys Martin, Luke Page and Stanton Albert take on the oppositions defence.

The game kicks off at 3.15pm at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday. This will be followed by Tonga vs Fiji and the last of the triple header between England and Samoa.
