Maprik Town is seeing an influx of people from six districts in East and West Sepik.
Maprik MP, John Simon, told EMTV News Maprik is now the Central hub and leaders must work together to build better infrastructures.
MP Simon said road and the Hayfield Airport are the priority projects. He says Maprik is Central Sepik and their significance in building better infrastructure for the good of the seven districts in East and West Sepik.
With the buying and selling of vanilla gaining momentum in Maprik, more than half a million is circulated on the streets of Maprik town in a day. Talks with landowners have agreed to expand the perimeters of the town
Transport infrastructure will now be the focus of the District according to the Maprik MP.
The Hayfield airport is a major project which K3 million has been released out of K10million committed by Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.
More than 7 districts in East and West Sepik are linked by road.
MP Simon is urging neighbouring districts to work with him and help build roads, bridges, health and other services to link the people.
