Lae Secondary School To Host Team Central

By Sylvester Gawi – EM TV, Lae

Preparations to host the 2014 PNG Games are progressing well with schools and colleges being readied to accommodate visiting teams.

The Lae Secondary School will be home to team Central during the PNG Games. The school will be providing meals, accommodation and other training facilities for team Central throughout the games.

The organising committee yesterday presented a payment of K133,000 to the school’s administration, for the accommodation of team Central. Games ambassador Dika Toua was on hand to do the presentation during her visit to Lae Secondary School.

The presentation is timely, with the Games scheduled to begin on November the 16th.

Lae Secondary has a long history of producing some of PNG’s best sporting talents. With its ideal location, it is easily accessible for the team to move to and from various sporting venues.

Lae Secondary School Principal, Christopher Raymond, says the school is looking at giving the best for their visitors.

Several colleges and schools in the city will also be hired to accommodate the participating provinces.

With just 16 days to go, preparations look set and Lae City is ready to host the biggest sporting event in Papua New Guinea.
