Lae NSL Roundup

Football fans in Lae city were entertained with a double-header of NSL games on Saturday at the Sir Ignatius Kilage stadium.

Admiralty FC came from behind to equalize a 1 all draw against Morobe United FC in the first game, while, Lae FC defeated visitors Oro FC, 3 goals to 1 in the main game.

The draw with Admiralty FC is a lesson learnt for the Morobe United FC after been defeated, 2 nil by Oro FC in the previous weekend.

Ball control in the mid field, has been a major problem for the team, however changes are expected in the coming games.

In the main game, the high spirited Lae FC side kept the visitors on their feet, with more runs and aggressive control of the ball.

Midfields Emmanuel Simon and Kohu Liem played leading roles in directing, and placing the football wherever it was needed.

Emmanuel Yawi scored the first goal for Lae FC in the first half, with the team leading two goals to nil into the break.

In the second half, Oro retaliated with a goal from Captain Gari Moka, however Lae’s Moses Kamakeng found the net ten minutes later for Lae FC to lead three goals to one.

Lae FC maintains strong defence in the final twenty five minutes to win the game three one.

Oro FC had played without two of the Madang based players from Divine Word University, however they are said to focus on the game plans in the coming games.
