Kobol files application to challenge SHP Governor

Second runner-up for the Southern Highland Governor’s Seat Joseph Kobol has filed an application to challenge the declaration of SHP Governor, William Powi.

The Grounds the petition was filed on include allegations of errors and omissions by the Electoral Commission during the counting period and the declaration on 29 September, in Port Moresby.

The petition alleges that an absolute majority was not reached when the declaration was made by the Electoral Commissioner.

The matter will be mentioned at the Court of Disputed Returns on November 29.
