Janet Sape: Consider local businesses Pacific Games committee

By Quinton Alomp – EM TV, Port Moresby

Executive Director of PNG Women in Business, Janet Sape has called on the Pacific Games committee to involve local entrepreneurs.

“Local businesses must be given consideration.

“There are women operating hire cars, lodge and others specialise in sewing uniforms, these people can be identified and given specific tasks to participate in the benefits of the big event” Sape said.

The outspoken women leader has requested the games organising committee to open dialogue with local business owners to utilise their services.

She said “let not the local SMEs and businesses stand idle, but make use of their hire car services, hotel and lodge accommodation, restaurant and catering services, print and design, sewing uniforms and lot more.”

She encourages women to have an open mind and see opportunities where they can participate in to make ends meet.

Tomorrow she will lead a delegation of fifteen PNG women to attend a business conference in Nadi, Fiji.

She is expected to present the success story of PNG Women’s Micro Bank during that conference.

Local business woman Rega Rabona, who is part of the delegates, said she hopes to learn more about Fiji’s success in Tourism industry which she aims to improvise on upon her return.
