International Mixed Martial Arts Seminar Ends

Only four provinces participated in the two-day International Mixed Martial Arts Seminar held in Port Moresby.

A participant from Milne Bay province said, the seminar was an opportunity for trainers, fighters and instructors to improve their knowledge, and the level of the code in the country.

The seminar was conducted by Australia-based instructor, Brad Hope, and local veteran, Jamuga Stone.

It was an opportunity for Mixed Martial Arts fighters in the country to see Australian Great, Brad Hope, displaying some of his techniques to young Papua New Guinean fighters.

Milne Bay Kickboxing trainer, and Coach, Solomon Tiamani, said the seminar was helpful for those who attended every session.

For the three representatives from Milne Bay, many lessons have been learnt from the seminar, and they are prepared to impart that information to other youth, upon their return to the province.

Participating provinces included New Ireland, West New Britain, Milne Bay and NCD. Other centres did not attend due to financial issues.

The 2- day seminar was held at the Hohola Youth Development Centre on the 16th and 17th of December.
