Today is International Food Day under the United Nations Calendar. With the theme Agriculture cooperatives the Key to feeding the world, emphasis is placed on more local food production.
PNG has a 2.3 population growth rate and the foods grown cannot cater for that demand. In Port Moresby World Food day was observed at the Gordons market.
