Governor General Seals Contract Agreement for Rural Bridges

Governor General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae today executed on behalf of the State, a contract agreement for the supply of emergency and rural bridges throughout the 22 provinces of PNG.

The contract valued at K102 million will be fully funded by the National Government, through its annual budget appropriation for five years.  It is a Vendor Financing arrangement scheme with no interest.

The contract agreement is for the purchase of 72 Steel Panel Bridges, 2,000 meters in total length, for Emergency and Rural Infrastructure Development Program.

The contract was approved by the National Executive Council and awarded to United Pacific Bridging Pte Ltd. Company representatives Mr. Dushy Thiru and Lionel De Silva signed the contract at Government House this morning witnessed by Secretary of Department of Works and Implementation, Mr, David Wereh.
