Gold Nugget School Kricket Trophy To Roll-Out In POM

Paradise Foods Ltd has come on board with their product “Gold Nugget” to support Cricket PNG with their inaugural “Gold Nuggets School Cricket Trophy”.

The competition has attracted a number of Secondary Schools along with some Primary Schools in the Nation’s Capital.

The competition targets children between the ages of 15 to 17 years old and has established a link for young cricketers playing Softball BSP School Kricket to advance to a provincial and national level.

The competition requires each team to field 11 players a side and will be played on a synthetic or concrete wicket on a full size pitch with 11 overs.

Bowlers can bowl up to a maximum of two overs each and normal cricket rules will apply except for LBW’s which will not be used during the competition.

The competition will be rolled out in Port Moresby and will branch out to other centres soon.

Cricket PNG will supply all the protective gear which is required to be worn at all times throughout the competition.

Cricket PNG’s Game Development Manager, Gayan Loku, is excited about the roll-out of the competition and thanks Paradise Foods for supporting Cricket PNG’s development program. He hopes this partnership will grow and produce the next generation of Barramundis and Lewas in the years to come.
