Ganim Wins Case

Wabag MP Robert Ganim won the election petition case against former MP and Deputy Prime Minister, Sam Abal, yesterday.

Supreme Court Justice Batari Lenalia dismissed both applications.

The first was seeking leave to dispense, with requirements of Rules under Order 5, Rule 39, to file out of time, and an application seeking Leave for Review of a July 16, and a 2013 decision of the National Court that then was in favor of Robert Ganim.

A jubilant Mr. Ganim upheld the justice system of the country, and appealed to his voters and supporters to remain calm, adding that now he is happy and can concentrate on service delivery.

This Supreme Court decision will now relax a stay order on Impact projects such as the Wabag chicken abattoir, new Wabag town market, the Maramuni road project, and other such projects that were on hold since 2012 due to the court order.
