Former Kumul Tinemau Passes On

The funeral service for former Kumul great, David Tinemau will be held in Mt Hagen on Saturday January 13. Tinemau will be laid to rest in Chimbu.

The statement from the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League cited that Tinemau was suffering a long illness.

“David was Kumul No. 43. He made his debut against France in France in 1979,” Chairman Sandis Tsaka said in the statement today.

The statement shared that Tinemau played three Tests and has recorded a try for the National Team. The Kumul played as a winger and centre.

David also served as a former Chairman of Selectors of the PNG Kumuls.

“On behalf of the PNGRFL and the rugby league family, we extend our sincere condolences to his son Linston and the families on the passing of his dad,” Tsaka said in statement this afternoon.
