By Meriba Tulo – EMTV News, Port Moresby

Senior Management of the Department of Finance joined staff members at the opening of the new payment office.

Located within the department’s Vulupindi Haus Headquarter, this facility now officers more counters, comfortable seating, and soon will integrate a ticketing system. For Finance Minister James Marape, this development also complements efforts to make the department more transparent and efficient, whilst also integrating payment options for other line departments, including the IRC.

According to Minister Marape, this is part of efforts to improve services offered by this key government department.

The Minister has also hinted at similar set-ups at other centers that will also integrate payment for other services, including tax payments.

Enga Governor Sir Peter Ipatas, and Finschhafen MP Renbo Paita were also present, and opened this new facility.
